Seafood City Supermarket on Olive Blvd is one of several seafood supermarkets in Saint Louis. In addition, you’ll find fresh seafood markets all over the Saint Louis area, ranging in size from groceries to gigantic markets that feature fish and seafood from all over the world. Seafood markets are worth visiting to buy fish that is fresh off the boat. Each store offers a different assortment of fresh seafood. Seafood markets offer some of the freshest seafood you can find. But, if you’re not willing to make a weekly or biweekly trip to a seafood market, you may find that many of the smaller grocery stores that provide a limited variety of fish for sale are just as good. Many of these smaller grocery stores are located in older, multi-family houses or apartment complexes. Fish markets located in the upper parts of Saint Louis and in less populated areas may not be as well stocked. Seafood markets located in traditional grocery stores are more likely to have some fresh fish available and their fish has been flown in from all over the world.

Then, there are big markets. In general, big seafood markets have expanded, so there is more selection to choose from, however, some of the bigger markets are extremely expensive. If you’re willing to pay a bit more, big markets are a great way to purchase fresh seafood year round. Some of the largest fish markets in Saint Louis include Bob’s Seafood, Seafood City Supermarket and World Market on Grand Blvd. The cheapest way to buy fresh seafood is to visit a supermarket that features several seafood products, such as canned tuna, frozen fish and shrimp. Depending on where you shop, you may find fish at the supermarket to be priced competitively with seafood markets. But, you’re probably better off visiting a supermarket that specializes in seafood products, as they’re the most likely to be able to sell you a large variety of fresh fish. It can be difficult to compare prices between fresh and canned seafood products. Therefore, if you do decide to buy fresh fish at a supermarket that sells a variety of canned seafood products, it’s probably best to select canned fish over fresh fish products because canned fish is cheaper and it can be more difficult to get a fresh fish product to match the quality of the canned products.
